I would put 17 in my top 3 so far - I’ve tried 1,2, 3, 7, 15, 17, 23 and 32. More refined and classy vs. in your face style. Decanted for 24 hours and just kept getting better in the glass over a couple of hours.
I believe that’s age. Most of this juice just got in the bottle.
Another big thumbs up for Lot 27 Spring Mountain District Proprietary Red
Opened yesterday morning in anticipation of having with last night’s dinner. Wall of chewy tannins, muted, closed back up. Today, it is opening beautifully with cherry and cassis, spice, and a bit of CF red pepper. The palate is still quite tannic but also with some acidic lift behind the structured ripe fruit.
Really fine, glad I went in for another 6-pack for Black Friday. I do not normally drink Napa reds but this has a lot of balance for all its power.
16 was great the other day, not sure what folks are talking about with “Oak”
12 was great as well
Pop and pour good to go
CamX are not oak or tannic monsters, that is a bygone era
These are plug and play

Respectfully disagree on lot 16, but I am glad that you enjoyed it, as is! If you didn’t experience any oak with this BEAST, I can only attribute that to bottle variation, but here is my lot 16 experience:
Opened a bottle on Wednesday night, and did Cam’s 24 hour decant, including one hour completely out of bottle in a decanter hoping to be able to drink it Thanksgiving night. Massive palate staining thick liquid, black hole, big tannins, oak, minimal dark berry. Undrinkable.
Night two: the wine actually regressed with more acidity present. Even more undrinkable.
Night four (last night, didn’t try on night three): only become drinkable after some time in the glass. Nice, but not there yet. More like a Cabernet than a typical Syrah. Oak and tannins were a lot more in check and the dark fruit was forefront.
Night five: still have a full glass+ to drink tonight! Will report back if different than night four!
Regardless, my plan is to mark these bottles for 2028!
just waded through our cellar
Brought up a dN 528 2023 Paso Cab
FWIW no date to drink on anything down there as all are “drinkable”

Had three cam x wines with family at Thanksgiving. Lot 22, I planned ahead, did a 24 hour decant. Big hit, family member who usually politely accepts a glass of wine and then goes back to craft beers went back for two more glasses. Lot 28 had been sitting in the fridge for a few days and we had with a few German and Austrian whites. All agreed it had nice aromatics but lacked in acidity. Lot 21 was a spur of the moment we’re out of wine on the table situation, gave it a quick decant and it was way closed up. It’s my third or fourth bottle of it and the others I’ve given at least some decant+time to, and found them delicious, but I have to agree with others that this wine can definitely present tight if not given the right treatment.
Same observation, great aromatics and lacking in acidity.
I doubt aging will bring on more acidity.?
Correct. It won’t
Agreed on lot 28, my one bottle was very flat, almost flabby and not great. No acidity, but beautiful pineapple fruit and jasmine flower.
7 Coombsville Napa very good
Yeah, I am not sure if there were multiple barrels bottled separately or what. Some (including Cam) have described it as great acidity and I have a hard time squaring that with what has been in the two bottles I’ve tried. Certainly also evidence against it being the bottling blend from Navarro, which specs at 6.9 g/l TA. Though still not sure who else it could possibly be with the description.
Of all the 28s I popped, 2 were nicely acidic but 1 is quite flabby. I think it’s good enough for Tuesday wine.
So far I have drank multiple bottles of the following lots 1,2,3,4,7,11,15, 18, 20, 25, 27. I have yet to crack open lot 10, 12 or 16 based on the majority of everyone that has tried those lots saying they are just not close to ready. For my taste the clear top 2 wines are Lot 20 and 25 both of which I have now bought multiple cases of. Crazy how drinkable and PNP good right off the bat lot 20 is for a 2024! 25 is just the perfect full bodied i’d be happy to only drink this cab year after year is to me…Lot 27 is a close 2nd and my 3rd fav wine so far. Anyhow cheers to the holidays ya’ll.
100% this agreement. Wait…also go birds.
Another Birds fan love it! I’m up in Chester Springs/Glenmoore PA, are you in Philly area?
Yup, Northern Liberties in the city.
Nice glad i’m not the only guy in the area that the UPS driver is sick of making deliveries to. Was just in Philly a week ago with my wife and kids and had dinner at a great Italian BYOB spot- Aroma on 3rd, brought a bottle of Lot 2 that I predecanted and met Big Dom who is a regular there.
Nice tip. I have a 5 yo and 8 month old so don’t go out too much, but always on the lookout for good BYOBs to do tasting dinners with friends. Also…Big Dom! City legend for no reason at all other than we are just a cool city.
Any comparison to the community guess of Paul Hobbs?
