To start with gougères:
I paid 19 euros a bottle for this at auction… good deal. Strawberries, citrus lots of minerality, very fresh and enjoyable. Lacking a little on the finish but lovely.
With a smorgasbord of stuff…
2106… couldn’t be more different! The franc de pieds is awesome! Crunchy cranberries and groseilles, so much freshness and beautiful acidity. At this point, it’s all fruit with a touch of fine tanins. So easy to drink.
The Picasses had much more character. Green and root vegetables on the nose. There’s plenty of fruit but the profile is all savory and lip smacking finish. Very nice.
Awesome brunch with good friends. This is what its all about.
