2014 Domaine Rolet Arbois Vieilles Vignes
Hmmm…
I was told that 2014 wasn’t a great vintage for this. Well gosh darn it, i like it a lot.
Pale red going almost terra cotta. The nose is just inviting a sip. The nose is not layered nor too complex but there is a bright red berries / savoury or earthy combo that just works really well with a hint of florals to make it seem delicate. On the palate, zippy cherries, the same savoury component (root vegetables, dried herbs and tilled earth). Light bodied, tart (medium+ acidity) very decent mid-palate short finish. But damn this is fun to drink. I dare you to not finish the bottle. In a great place, drink up.
