What are your preferred wine glasses for use at home?

Zalto all the way. Too bad I broke one so my set is all off.

I use Dora the Explora sippy cups (Zalto).

Road Soda!

The glass formerly known as the Oregon Pinot Noir glass is now my go to glass for Pinot.

Just converted over to SZ Pure - Bordeaux, Cabernet, and Champs. Also bought the whiskey glasses…

Schott Zwiesel Forte Burgs for everyday use. I really like the shape of the Vinum Riesling glasses for all whites - including sparkling - but the damn things keep breaking…

Schott Zweisel Forte Burgundy glasses, Zalto white wine glass (very recent addition), and Zalto Champagne glasses

Baller.

I use both of these all the time.

Riedel Sommelier Montrachet for white Burgundy and occasional other whites
Riedel Sommelier Grande Bourgogne for Red Burgundy and occasional other reds
Riedel Vinum Syrah for Syrah, Shiraz, and Northern Rhône
Riedel Vinum Burgundy for Chateauneuf, lighter Grenache blends, Chiantis, Beaujolais, and other light reds
Riedel Vinum Cabernet for Bordeaux, Cabernet blends, heavier Grenache blends, Brunellos & Vino Nobiles
Baccarat Short Tulip for Champagne, sparkling wines, and some still rosés
Special Artist glasses from the Univ. of Ill. for some rosés, sauvignon blancs, and some lighter whites

I had to buy 36+ glasses (red/white) for a large dinner party once and decided on the Connoisseur series from, believe it or not, Cost Plus World Market. They suit my needs just fine, and at only $28 for a set of four, they’re easily replaceable if broken. (Didn’t like the Vintner series, though. Visible flaws.)

Riedel Oregon Pinot Noir
Schott Zwiesel Cru Red Wine
And some cheap whites I got from Bed Bath & Beyond for $2.50/stem… although I started with 12, now down to 7… I’ll have to find some replacements soon.

Speigelau Authentis -different glasses for cab, pinot, white, bubbles, and dessert.

All thanks to the Amazon blowout years ago.

riedel vinum bordeaux glasses

a variety of glasses for pinots/nebbiolos-mostly spieglau burg glasses

and am down to a lone, after much breakage, schott zwiesel forte white burg glass for whites and bubblies

I’m a bit like Dick Krueger, probably because of our similar ages. I bought Baccarat Haut Brion glasses back in the seventies when they were the ultimate. They look so SMALL now.

Anyway, for everyday use I have Spiegelau glasses, I think the chardonnays.

For any sort of special occasion it is Riedel.

The “special cuvee” (is that what they are called) – graceful tulips for Champagne
Bordeaux and Brunello (very similar) for Bordeaux
Syrah for Syrah
Sauternes for Sauternes – these are the Sommeliers, are they called d’Yquem? Very very thin glass, when I break one you get this pitiful little pile of glass shards.
Burgundy for Burgundy, and the big impressive Burgundy for big impressive wines.

For most whites I just go back to Spiegelau.

We also use the smaller festival glasses from either Riedel or Spiegelau for sauternes, port, and other dessert wines.

Riedel Vinum Bordeaux
Riedel Vinum Burgundy
Riedel Vinum Cuvee Prestige
Riedel Sommeliers Sauternes

Frank-

Actually six of our eight Riedel Grand Bourgognes, we got in the mid-seventies. They have hunting scenes etched on them. At that time they were called ‘Hermitage’. Except for the etching they are virtually identical to current Grand Bourgognes.

Vinum extreme cabernet for several years…now i been using zalto burg stems which i love!
