Weygandt wine imported Austrian Pumpkin Seed Oil?

I’m throwing this out to the forums in the hope that someone here knows what was the name of the Austrian Pumpkin Seed Oil that they imported (maybe 10 years ago)?

I know this is a long shot…but I’m hoping someone might know what the name of that producer.

What does one use pumpkin seed oil for?

Salads, and fun food experiments.

A current favorite of mine is dinosaur kale with pumpkin seed oil & salt.

we bought some from a farm in Wisconsin and they recommended it as a vanilla ice cream topping.
It was surprisingly tasty!

sadly, they have had a few poor harvests and recently shut down.

Just be careful. I find pumpkin oil to be the liquid that is virtually impossible to remove when it stains clothes or other fabrics.

“improve the sexual health status…improve sexual stimulation and intromission and ejaculatory latency” at least according to Pumpkin Seed Oil: An Alternative Medicine - PMC. Cracked up when that showed up in my top search results when I was more interested in smoke point.

On ice cream, I imagine, isn’t too dissimilar from using olive oil on ice cream.

I believe you are supposed to eat it, not smoke it.

It’s good in some soups like squash soup. I think I used it in a cream of mushroom soup many years ago to good effect. btw, that mushroom soup is from Ruth Reichl’s Comfort Me with Apples It’s easy to make and super delicious. One of those true comfort foods. The recipe is easily found online.

Pumpkin soup with pumpkin oil drizzled on top was quite delicious

It’s great as a finishing oil, but I usually just dip bread in it. Unbelievably delicious.
