Anyone with experience?
Extensive experience. I’ve drunk Westy 12 around 25 or more times from brand new to 13 years old. And the best bottles have been 10+ years old. The complexity increases and it mellows wonderfully. Huge fan of this beer. Among the best in the world and worthy of its lofty reputation.
I agree with Adam.
My wife and I slowly replace what we drink and have had decade plus aged bottles that are great.
Worth your time to experiment.
I still have a couple of six packs left from the Shelton Bros. release in 2011. They are a wonderful treat once or twice a year.
Have a 12 pack from around 2012.
Had no clue if they were still good
I predict they will be great.
I agree with Adam: assuming you like the style, 2012’s should be great right now.
Date on cap is 23-10-16. That means it’s 2013?
Yes that’s the drink by date, 3 years from bottling.
I also have some 11 to 13 that I’m holding. Last had one at 10 years and it was good.
