Well turn me over and burn my behind! Jets Cabernet!

The New York Jets are pleased to announce the release of Jets Uncorked, a 2008 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, in commemoration of their new home.

The New York Jets have teamed-up with renowned Napa Valley winemaker Marco DiGiulio to create a sophisticated, limited-edition Cabernet Sauvignon. This vintage offers lush, ripe flavors of red cherries, currants and berries, framed by supple tannins, and just enough oak to add complexity without obscuring the purity of the fruit. The long spicy finish is an invitation for another sip.

The grapes for this Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon were hand harvested, hand sorted and gently crushed at Girard Winery. The juice and skins were cold soaked for five days prior to the must, undergoing a native yeast fermentation. Once fermentation was complete, the wine underwent an extended maceration to allow for softer, more well-integrated tannins. Malolactic fermentation occurred in barrel as part of its 22 months in 60% new French oak. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Not that much a surprise with Gary V doing marketing for the Jets.

You guys are too slow.

Much like The Jets, it probably starts off strong, but then has a weak finish.

Mike, Gary V’s marketing company has the Jets as a client. Wouldn’t be shocked if he did something with wine but unrelated to WL business.

Interesting.
Thanks, Paul. [cheers.gif]

GV said he “consulted” on this project.

I am a Browns fan, I hear they are making their own enema.

GV selling for less that Gary’s and the Jets website… FWIW… I’m waiting for the Giant’s cabernet though… neener

Met with Marco DiGiulio at Garys and tasted this today. Its actually pretty decent. It’s back labeled Girard.
Cheers!

I tasted it today too. Initial reaction was that it wasn’t bad. Second reaction was that it had some greenness and very firm and coarse tannins.

This is a wine that is destined to spend years in the cellar neener , with decades between winning vintages.

I tasted this again last night. This bottle was better. I didn’t get much greeness. Lots of vanilla and black fruit. Still some big tannins.
