Weingut Schloss Lieser

I visited 10 years ago and at the time Schloss Lieser the winery had a little apartment on the property they rented out by the night. Was lovely. I don’t know if they have it anymore but might be worth inquiring.

We stayed at the hotel for a few days last April and really enjoyed it. Was not a wine-focused trip, though we had a couple of visits, including Sybille Kuntz who is within walking distance of the hotel. If you rent a car, you can park directly across from the hotel, though pay attention to the parking rules. We received a ticket–even though we paid for parking–and had to call the city to have the amount credited back. We took a taxi to Die Mosel and a couple other spots, but having a car in the area is useful.

Curious why didn’t you park in the Hotels’s underground parking garage?

Their 2010 Gold Capsule Auslesen from those two vineyards were fabulous, esp. the Helden

This is a good question. It is certainly one of the more beautiful parking garages I’ve parked in…

Don’t remember underground parking, but I’m guessing it had something to do with street parking being right outside the front lawn.

Really? Granted it’s been two years since we stayed at Schloss Liester but they did not let us down in any way, shape or form. We enjoyed our stay, complimentary breakfasts, their bar and had at least one very nice meal in the restaurant.

In the good old days the were 3 vineyards to focus on and Auslese from Brauneberger Juffer, Juffer Sonnenuhr and Haags first vineyard, Niederberg Helden are excellent today. Stellar wines just getting mature

We stayed there in August 2021. They definitely had not fully recovered from the pandemic so hopefully that was it and it sounds like they have improved. I would still recommend staying in Traben over Schloss Lieser because of the town, restaurants, wineries close by etc. The Schloss Lieser is an incredibly beautiful hotel.

The food is still not good, but the rooms are impressive.
