A whole mess o’ wine opened today for the staff to taste through.

Crisp and spicy white fruit flavors fully evolved and ready to party

Ripe aromas with a hint of bike tire, pure Gris flavors without much complexity

Willm 2006 Pinot Gris
Residual Sugar? Juicy fruit with decent acidity

Cave de Saumur 2008 Saumur Blanc
100% Chenin Blanc; damn tasty, zippy acidity with brilliant fruit and balance

Ken Forrester 2008 Petit Chenin
Minerals in the aromas of apple fruit; juicy fruit and body, delicious

Pine Ridge 2008 Chenin - Viognier
Hints of gooseberry (and ammonia) in the aromas of white peach, luscious in the mouth, party wine

Pink wines:

Muga 2008 Rioja Rosado
Very light color, strawberry aromas, vivid acidity, quite refreshing, yum!

Maipe 2008 Rose of Malbec
quite dark color; pungent cherry aromas and flavors, soft and fairly innocuous

Bastianich 2008 Rosato Fruiliano
Bike tire aromas again (blew off with colder temperature); 100% Refosco, decent, not enough acidity

enticing aromas of light strawberries and watermelon, great acidity, very refreshing and delicious

Raffault 2008 Chinon Rose
strawberry-rhubarb pie before it hits the over, pure cherry and strawberry fruit, delicious, yummy!

100% Garnacha; dark color, spicy cherry fruit

Sadly, my planned tasting of 1976 Spatlesen and Auslesen was put off until next week. :frowning:

I didn’t taste too much good today. The Yellow + Blue Malbec, rose, and torrontes were all pretty tasty though (We already carry them, except the Rose which is new)

I did taste the Cave de Samur last week and thought it was very nice. And we have the Ken Forrester Petit Chenin stacked right now. that’s always a tasty little bottle of wine.

Peter, put this in Wine Talk.

I agree. Even if they are wines you sell, these notes are fine for WT.

Unless you followed them with “Normally priced at ***, but today, for you only, ***!!!”

Retailers get the most exposure to different wines…please post in WT.

Bone

Alright, from now on I will. I’m still a little gun-shy about posting about wines we currently sell.

Peter - up to you, let me know if you want me to move this over to WT
