W.T. Vintners & Gorgiste | BADASS Syrah, Pinot, Gamay +++ ¡BONUS! procrastinator Magnum Raffle on now!

#:tada::grapes: Berserkers, strap in—BD16 is here, and we’ve got five offers designed to take your wine game straight into overdrive. :wine_glass::fire:

The last couple years we were just getting warmed up. This year? We’re bringing the heat. From our lo-fi hand-crafted reds to some seriously soulful whites, these wines will make your collection feel a lot more interesting—and a lot more fun. No pretention here, Just damn good wine that delivers exactly what it promises.

:star2: * Who am I, really? I’m Jeff. If you live in the PNW you might recognize me from my time as the fancy sommelier & Wine Director at Michael Mina and Rajat Parr’s temple to Burgundy, RN74, GM/Wine Director at Cafe Juanita, or from past lives at Cascadia or Lampreia. For the last 15 years, I’ve been quietly bucking trends and crafting wines at my tiny family-owned winery, W.T. Vintners, and now with my newest project, Gorgiste (it’s pronounced Gor-jeest, don’t overthink it).

I’ve picked up a few cool accolades along the way—CMS Advanced Sommelier, Washington Wine Commission’s Sommelier of the Year, Seattle Magazine’s Winemaker to Watch, Wine Enthusiast’s 40 Under 40 Tastemaker, Top 100 this and that, and a few others. But honestly, I’m a Burgundy geek at heart. Living in Seattle, I get to work with Washington’s incredible terroir and grapes, but my style is inspired by the wines of Burgundy, Northern Rhône, Jura, and Austria.

I learned the winemaking ropes in Burgundy, New Zealand, Oregon, and right here in Washington. Every year, I make pilgrimages to Burgundy and the Rhône Valley to keep learning from the masters. My time as a sommelier and working alongside great chefs has shaped my choices in the vineyard and cellar, just as much as my experiences with amazing winemakers and growers. I craft these wines by hand—and foot—with purpose. No shortcuts. No fillers. No weird additives. Just enough SO2 to keep things clean. Real wine, made with intention and guided by old-world traditions. And you’ll taste that in every glass.

Expect wines with balance and elegance—defying the norms of Washington State wine.
Think finesse over power, nuance over new oak, and savory over bombastic fruit.

:rotating_light: Shipping: Flat Rate $20. Multiple offers on one order will still be 20 bucks. Rates have gotten out of control, but we will eat most of the cost to get our wines in your cellar.
Sorry, we can’t ship to AK, DE, HI, MS, ND, NH, RI, SD, or UT.

Happy BerserkerDay!

Jeff and the W.T. Vintners & Gorgiste Family

:wine_glass: Offer #2 – SYRAH LOVE: Old-School Technique Meets Washington’s Desert Terroir

Last year, this was our most popular offer. Your love of Syrah melted my cold black heart. If you’ve been craving Syrah with a little history in the bottle—this is your jam. Our wines are made to age, I find they hit their stride around year 7-8. Our earliest wines still have yet to show any signs of fatigue. Handcrafted with a respect for tradition, these wines bring together the best of old-world techniques and the power of Washington’s soil and sun. No gimmicks. Just Syrah that honors a vinous legacy, with a fresh Washington twist. A perfect balance of structure, elegance, and a hell of a lot of personality.

If you like whole-cluster, lower alcohol, pure Syrah - these wine F*#@ (as the kids say these days).

In the box you’ll get 1 of each wine:
Destiny Ridge ‘Block’ Syrah, Horse Heaven Hills, WA 2019
Wild fermentation, 80% whole cluster, 18 mo. neutral 228-liter barrels, 215 cases, 93 Vinous, 13.4% abv

Les Collines Vineyard ‘Block 30’ Syrah, Walla Walla Valley, WA 2019

*Wild fermentation, 100% whole cluster, aged 18 mo. in neutral 228 & 500-liter barrels, 110 cases, 92 WE, 12.1% abv

Stoney Vine ‘Block 2’ Syrah, Walla Walla Valley, OR 2019
Wild fermentation, 100% whole cluster, aged 18 mo. in neutral 228 & 500-liter barrels, 110 cases, 93 WE, 13.2% abv

A note on our vineyards and winemaking: We don’t work with any vineyards that use Roundup :tm: :face_vomiting: or chemical herbicides. In the cellar we DO NOT use commercial yeast, inoculate for ML, add water, add acid, or any of the other freaky additives that have become the norm. We believe anything added, or taken away, can dilute the ability to capture time and place in favor of absolute control. We pick early to keep alcohol in check, love whole cluster fermentation, and use just enough SO2. We do add organic yeast nutrients during fermentation when needed, punch downs are by foot, and we rarely rack until our final blend before bottling. Our longtime senior executive intern calls it “benevolent neglect.”

:tada: Offer #3 – THE LIBRARY MYSTERY CASE: Rhône Style Reds with History

Look, I’m not one for exaggeration, but this case is something special. I’ve been holding onto these reds for the perfect moment, and that moment is now. This mixed case features wines from vintages spanning 2014 to 2020—though not every box will be the same. Some bottles are older, some younger, but each one is ready to show you why I’ve been hanging on to them. You’ll receive a unique selection with every order, and trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Inside, you’ll find 12 bottles of Rhône-inspired magic, with at least 4 different vintages per case, ranging from 2014 to 2020. Each box is one-of-a-kind, but all are packed with history, complexity, and serious character. Syrah will likely dominate your box—it’s our passion—but for some added diversity and excitement, you might also discover bottles of Grenache, Mourvèdre, our Rhône blend, or, if you’re really lucky, one of our single barrel wine club or experimental wines. All of these wines have the accolades to back them up and are drinking beautifully.
