Visiting Sonoma

I’ll be in Sonoma County for four days late April.

Who on the bb is around the area that I can stop by and say hello?

I’m going to have with me a fellow who operates a wine bar and wine retail shop in Manhattan. We definitely will spend a day or two in Mendocino County.

He’s looking for wines with no or limited distribution in NY City. I’m just tagging along for the ride and for information.

Thomas - I was just up in Mendocino for the day and can suggest a couple that I thought are making very good wine. All pretty close to each other once you get out into the countryside.

Breggo Wines - Pinot Gris, Rose, Gewurtzraminer, Pinot (Savoy Vyd, Ferrington Vyd, etc) and a Syrah

Tolouse Wines - Pinot Gris, Riesling, Rose, Pinot Noir (Tolouse Vyd).

Phillips-Hill Winery - very small production Pinot Noir from a former NY artist, Toby Hill. Terrific Pinots from Tolouse Vyd, Oppenlander Vyd and 1 other vineyard that escapes me right now.

I am sure there are others in Mendocino but these three we tried and really liked the wines.

Most of the Sonoma folks I know already have NY distribution…but you may try Bjornstead Wines made by Greg Bjornstead.

Thanks Tony,

Will add these to my list.

Thomas:
Battaglini and Siduri. Both excellent.
