Visit to Spain

My wife and I are looking into visiting Spain. I know there a lot of wine regions and lots of places to visit. Can people suggest wine regions, wineries, places to stay and any insightful/helpful tips would be greatly appreciated. We will be traveling to Spain after a short stay in France(Champagne/Burgundy). Thanks.

Opposite ends of the country, but San Sebastian in the north and Malaga in the south.

Great restaurants in both areas and excellent wine as well.

I would suggest reaching out for Victor de la Serna. He is very well connected, knowledgeable, and hospitable.

I visited Ribero del Duero 11 years ago. I like a lot of the wines, but the area was not particularly attractive, at least in the middle of summer. It was extremely arid. Not picturesque.

Given that you’re coming from Champagne/Burgundy, Priorat and the other wine areas of Catalonia would seem to make more sense. Plus, there’s Barcelona, which is a terrific city.

How much time will you have? Barcelona is 7 1/2 hours from Beaune on the Autoroute.
