VIRAGE NAPA VALLEY - Proof is in the Aging - Last Call 50% off Library

These wines just keep getting better! So I keep coming back

Well… the new distributors placed enormous orders–pretty fun–but not all the wine yet! So my rule is, if I have wine available, and Todd will let me in, I want THIS GROUP to get it… Newbies, welcome. Virage blends require no prior experience. Also, if you have not joined an offline, please find one ASAP in your area. Y’all will really enjoy meeting and dining with other Berserkers!

What doesn’t sell in this offering by end of March will go in April to our distributors in Ohio and Illinois. Beat them to it! PLEASE TAKE ADVANTAGE of this opportunity to buy direct from us at distributor pricing beautiful aged wines stored in ideal conditions in one warehouse since bottling day!

New to Virage?
We set out fifteen years ago to produce CabFranc/Merlot blends from cooler climate Napa Valley that would rival the character and age-ability of Right Bank Bordeaux.

WHY Virage blends taste so distinctive…
With these varietals, terroir matters. Our vineyard sites are all on volcanic soils at elevation or on slopes in upper Napa Carneros close to cooling breezes from the San Pablo Bay. We avoid upvalley heat which spikes sugar levels (and alcohol) and zaps the natural acid complex that supports long aging. And blend for balance; the Bordeaux tradition!

No frills operation. We put it all in the bottle.

I discovered wine in culinary school–to me, wine is a food companion. I want balance at moderate weight, depth, minerality and that mouthwatering finish…Virage blends are phenomenal with pork (a roast, a heritage chop, bacon, prosciutto), and great with lamb, steaks/tri-tip/short ribs, a simple roast chicken, seafood --or good bread & cheese over a long conversation, the wine will evolve with your topics. You can bring these versatile wines to any occasion :hugs:

2010 Virage - Avg 92.2

Decanted and enjoyed with medium rare, broiled lamb chops. Just a beautiful wine. Perfumed with lots of red fruit clusters. Drinking at peak at fifteen years. Everything is perfectly integrated and balanced. Very complex. Rich, smooth, lush, and very classy. Very satisfying finish. Should continue to drink well for another 1-2 years.

Flawless and singing now. Just a perfect blend, structure from the merlot, floral from the cab franc, long finish with the tertiary notes. In harmony now and I’m glad I have several more bottles.

…Overall a very well balanced wine. I told my wife “this is what CA used to taste like before everything went on steroids.”

2011 Virage - Avg 91.4

30 minute decant, low 60s F. Rich garnet color. Pleasant nose of earthy pine forest floor, cassis and vanilla. Velvety tannins, lively but well integrated acidity. Oak also well-integrated. Medium body, but the wine was light on its feet. Assertive tangy black cherry fruit on the palate, dark chocolate, bell pepper, mint, sun-dried tomato, a hint of vanilla. Lingering finish. Perfectly balanced wine. Really interesting that, except for the lovely acidity, this wine danced across the front of the tongue and the mid-palate, and only engaged with the rear palate.

Even better than my last bottle / drinking great now

2012 Virage - Avg 92.4

Part of a wine lineup to go with the feast of the seven fishes. No detailed notes, but a lovely wine, and the best of the bunch. Well-integrated, slightly intense red and black fruits with a light, velvety mouthfeel. Long finish. May still have a few years left, but it is showing so well, why wait. Think my last bottle will disappear in the next year, and hope that I can grab some more on the secondary market.

Smoked a pork tenderloin, so needed something that wouldn’t overpower it. Here comes the ‘12 Virage. 1 hour decant and drank over 2 hr.

14.4 AC feels like 13. Restrained and elegant. Medium bodied. Nose of red currants, red cherries, roasted red peppers, some earthiness, fresh leather. After more time, the nose was more dirt than fruit.

On the palate, more red currants, black currants, sour cherry, red cherry. Nice attack on the front of the palate, slightly hollow in the middle, but a nice seamless finish with acidic fruit and faint herbal and more roasted pepper notes. I hate bell pepper notes in wine, so it wasn’t green bell peppers, it was something else and it worked .

No oak or tannins in play, in a really good spot right now. One bottle left, will save for 2027+ though I have no doubts this could go to 2037+.

2012 Bourriquot - Avg 89.4

Opened it about an hour before serving it with dinner. Very enjoyable on pop & pour, got better as the evening went along, no sign of going downhill.

1/4/2025 - CurtaVino Likes this wine:91 Points

Right in its window now. Well-blended flavors that are not over the top but layered perfectly with the acidity. Tannins are still there but have mellowed a bit. All of which makes the wine a joy to drink.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

ZELLE: We love Zelle  It’s clean payment directly from you to Virage. If you choose payment method “Zelle” or “Check by Mail,” you can check out faster, move on to other offers, and Zelle your order total later, directly to the VIRAGE bank.
Adding a ZELLE contact is EASY:
In your online banking “transfers” section (or mobile app), choose “Add contact”

THESE INSTRUCTIONS - in detail - APPEAR in your CONFIRMATION if you choose Zelle or Check by Mail payment method.
Thank you for sacrificing airline miles and rebates which a small business just can’t afford to pay. I’ll be eternally grateful for Zelle payment. I save a fortune and your name appears right on my bank statement vs the nightmare of reconciling dozens of orders to aggregated deposits over several days. Thank you

PAPER CHECK: Sure, mail a check! I get dozens of them every year. The confirmation will give you the mailing address or email/PM me! Choose “Check by Mail” where again, you’ll get bullied to use Zelle

E-CHECK: Just set it up at 5am today, testing now, low expectations…

(Once new processor is synched up: There IS an input box for your 16-digit card# Hover your cursor just above and left of where a data entry box SHOULD BE, it will reveal itself like the door to Narnia. Volusion runs a white box on white background. :woman_facepalming:t3:

SHIPPING:

I can’t bear great wine to suffer heat or cold. My nightmare is your wine spends a warm afternoon trundling about, top of the pile, on the local FedEx truck if your driver happens to arrive when you’re in the shower or walking the dog… then lunch parked in the sun, then best case it spends an entire second day on the delivery truck or worst case, FedEx randomly ships back to sender, to somewhere I may not be. It happens too often.

Therefore, I WILL bully you to ship to a business address or to "Hold” at a FedEx pickup site near you! Not only do we eliminate risk of missed delivery, but we save $5-$9 per BOX for the Residential Surcharge. If you don’t work at–or have a buddy with–a regular business open M-F (typical business hours) to sign for deliveries, let me know your favorite local FedEx address (or Walgreens, etc), or I will email you the closest 3 locations when I create your label—they pop right up. FedEx holds FIVE (5) days starting delivery day in temp-controlled comfort!

I plan to ship West Coast orders ASAP, most orders will go out in March, weather permitting. I will always check in to make sure you’re around before shipping.

STATES:

The Virage website notes in more detail where we cannot ship - NY and NH, MI, TN, UT, the usual suspects. PM me with any questions. Remember, if you buy wine in California, and ship it to yourself from California after securing local CA storage, like 55 Degrees or Stagecoach in Napa, or Uovo (awesome business) in American Canyon, you can do as you like with your own wines. I’ll personally drop your wine there, no charge, and they will ship to you. I’m in an Airbnb in St. Helena for the month of February for this purpose (for the newbies, my house burned in a wildfire!). You could pick up there, too! Select Shipping Method: Winery Pickup (N/C) use the warehouse shipping address–it pops up on the screen.

Have fun today!

PM or text questions anytime! I know stuff is going to go wrong, so let me help. Y’all are the best!!

Hey EVERYONE struggling with the 50% code with free shipping. It works. I’m getting LOTS of successful orders. The KEY to success is you MUST ‘add to cart’ the item FORMAT = “Case of 12” not format = Qty12 x 750ml bottle (there’s a little arrow/pulldown menu next to the ADD TO CART button under a note that says Please choose format. Pull that puppy down to choose case! Make sense. I’ll try to add a photo in a few. This format choice will also trigger a Free FedEx Ground Shipping option that you can select when it comes to shipping options.

I’m going to figure out how to highlight this in RED BOLD etc. in the Offer text!!

Order in and Zelle on the way! Thank you!

Yippee Hi Stranger! Love seeing all these familiar peeps :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

A special thanks to all the MEMBERS who are here doing EARLY PURCHASE today (or trying to). You’re helping me fix my snafoos in the program. VERY GRATEFUL for your patience. I’m now tackling the orders with issues–will get to you soon by email.
I forgot to update two codes last night, forgive me, so if you ordered EARLY today, that is long fixed, you can click to go direct to those bundles. YOU CAN ALSO hit the SHOP tab on my website and see all available “bundles” as last years’ are active too.
Folks, it’s always something - been a long week with no power for FOUR DAYS in NASHVILLE w/pipes freezing and exploding in my cute Airbnb that I wanted to donate a weekend to the auction, but now I have no idea the damage I’ll find when I get back from CA in March. Good news is someone checked my wine cellar early this AM and it was still 36F in 18F weather - yay extra insulation and the power of a PACKED FULL CELLAR - showed a 24hr low of 32, even with nighttime temps dipping under 15. Maybe helps the “cellar” is next to the gas hot water heater that turns out runs just fine without power. And the pink, THICK, hard-style insulation I used on all the walls.

If anyone needs to justify buying more wine, I find this is a GREAT rationale.

Buying more wine really is like buying insurance. And we all have car insurance, right? So it absolutely makes sense to have cellar insurace (MORE WINE)!

I finally figured it out. Zelle sent. Thanks!
