Vinturi Red and White Aerators

Just curious if anyone who has both aerators sees a difference. I use the red all the time, and wondering if it makes sense to get the white, or do you just use the red one for everything.

I didn’t know there were different versions. Sounds like a marketing ploy to sell more product.

Have one, rarely use it.

Give me a break. It either aerates or not, red or white is immaterial. I threw my vinturi away as totally worthless, not worth cleaning after use.

We have 10 of these at the house and use them at the store:

Works for red or white, filters some of the sediment and keeps the fruit flys out of the bottle. Also use it to aerate wine I’m putting in a decanter. Yes, we sell both red and white Vinturi’s at the store. Certain people have to have them. Did I mention the Haley’s Corker is dish washer safe? They last about 3-4 years with regular use and 1-2 years of use in tasting rooms.

Wow. I had no idea.

“Vinturi for White Wine has different internal dimensions and flow rates. The result is perfect aeration specifically for white wine.”

OMG what an amazing crock of shit. Since I guess we are supposed to know ‘Reds’ and Whites’ should be aerated differently, but it is seemingly okay to aerate all white (or red) wines the same way. Why stop there? I want a Chardonnay Vinturi. I want a Chenin Blanc Vinturi. Or maybe one specifically for Sancerre as opposed to NZ Sauv Blanc…

I was given a Vinturi (I suppose it’s the red version) as a gift and rarely use it. Every now and again I’ll pour wine through it just to confirm it doesn’t (for my palate) makes a difference. I love all the notes on CT that start off “PnV” or “PnVnD”. I have a glass, my wrist is capable of swirling said glass and I have a decanter. In my experience that’s all the aeration I need.
