Vinotheque Cabinet Question - is this a good deal? what should I look out for?

Can you tell me if this is a good deal? They say its a vinotemp, but the pics show vinotheque.

Vinotheque wine cabinet 288 bottle

I called the manufacturer and based on the serial number they told me it was manufactured in july of 1998 and is a 320 QT. Never had any service calls on it.

What kind of questions should I ask about this? is this a good deal? Should I worry about the cooling unit working well?

Thanks,
dave

I have this exact unit, purchased in 1999, never had an issue. The QT system seems to be the way to go, more robust and reliable then the standard cooling systems. Looks like a good deal to me.

I’m gonna push LeCache - I’m SO pleased with mine…

12 years old. I would pass.

I have had 3 units in my life since 1982, 2 Eurocaves and 1 Vinoteque, and I would say 15 years is the point where my uncomfortability starts.

Wine Enthusiast has some scratch and dents for great prices with free shipping from time to time. I would not be surprised you could not snag one for about $500 more than this.

I don’t know about the Vinotheque but…

If you have the room I’ve got a 1300 bottle wine room I’d sell for less than the price of the vinotheque. I’ve upgraded to a larger wine room.

Btw, I am in the SF Bay area so relatively close by.

seriously drooling over this, but I do not have the room. my collection is only cresting 300 and I am picking the craigslist one to start filling. If I had the room I would do it in a heartbeat. [tease.gif]

Thanks for all your help everyone. I ended up buying it for less than what they were asking. Ken I think i have a buyer for your wine room. I will know more when i speak to them this weekend. They are helping me with bottling on saturday.

Cheers all
