My guess is that “vegan” and “Dallas” aren’t often used in the same sentence, but I figured I’d ask. I have to go to Dallas in early May for business and I’m wondering if anyone knows anything vegan or vegetarian friendly in Dallas. A decent wine list is a huge plus, but I know I shouldn’t push my luck. I think we’re staying close to the Love Field Airport. I’ve asked around on some vegan boards and haven’t gotten many replies and it seems the vast majority of ones I have gotten are for places that serve wraps and bowls and often times are only open for lunch. Anyone have any suggestions or am I stuck buying bagged salad greens at a grocery store and eating complimentary peanuts while drinking Manhattan’s in the hotel bar? Thanks.
I’ve eaten lunch at Cosmic Cafe (http://www.cosmiccafedallas.com/) and it’s pretty good. The website says they serve wine and beer, but I was there for lunch and didn’t take a look - I wouldn’t expect much.
I usually eat lunch though at Eatzi’s (http://www.eatzis.com/). Very good selection of deli items and made-to-order sandwiches and salads with tons of vegan options. Not an upscale restaurant, but very serviceable.
For high-end, I’ve been to Fearing’s Restaurant at the Ritz Carlton (http://fearingsrestaurant.com/menu.aspx?id=4). They have a vegetarian menu with a few options for vegans. The food was very good and the wine list is decent.
Its in Fort Worth, but I have friends that swear by this place (so does Eater):
Yay!! Thank you both so much. They all seem like great choices. I’m not sure how programmed our evenings are, but if it’s just my co-workers and I, I think I could convince them to try Fearing’s. Eatzi’s looks great and I might even be able to get stuff there at night to save for lunch since my guess is that the vegan options for lunch at my business meetings will be scarce (plus I can grab a bottle of wine so I can avoid the potential creepiness of the hotel bar). I really do appreciate it.
