Valentines Day Champagne Recommendations under $75

Marc Hebrart Brut Rose could be another option—really solid champagne, great QPR, broad appeal. Shouldn’t be too hard to find locally.

I think the wines I posted are broadly appealing, the agrapart is probably the most “exotic” of the bunch.

Thank you, I appreciate the recommendations.

$10 above your budget, but I’d recommend 2012 Laurent-Perrier Brut.

My wife always appreciates sparkling rose on Valentines. Billecart-Salmon NV rose is pretty accessible and always delivers (albeit maybe $10 above your range).

One of my selection criteria ( not the only one) is grower champagnes and looking for Skurnik import on the back label. Usually pretty good, and many < $75

Gabe, whatever you decide, I’d be interested and enjoy hearing about which one you pick, and how it turned out for you and your lady after next weekend. Have a great dinner.

Vilmart!!!

Also, great choice visiting Liquid Farm.

Since it sounds like the OP is not broadly versed in Champagne, I think the 244 is a safe bet. Its a fine example of a classically styled, big house Champagne.

OP needs a case sampler. No sense being a Berserker unless you’re willing to go full Berserk.

Picked up a bottle of 244 at K&L.
Next pick up will be Vilmart Grand Cellier.

Good plan.

Good choices

It looks like they don’t have any in stock, but both Thatcher’s and WHWC have Egly-Ouriet Les Prémices for about $65 and I think it’s the best Champagne under $75. I’d pick it up for next time.

I’m not the biggest fan of egly personally but it’s certainly high quality.

Haven’t opened the bottle of 244 yet but received a nice vday surprise from my gf

Now which do we open first???

Both, side-by-side!

But, if only one, the Vilmart.

Thanks for the recommendation! Popped open the bottle of Vilmart for Valentine’s Day. This was clearly a level above what we have tasted in the past. That was made clear with the first sip. The champagne had a sense of elegance and sharpness. We both commented on the acidity and it making our mouth water. Nectarine, green apple and lime on the palate with a minerality finish. We are new to the world of champagne but excited to begin trying more (my wallet might hate me though).

Which one did you end up opening?
