What was the order date?

1/28

You’re right of course. I initially had my doubts like others whether to trust them because of them being just liquidators but they’ve done fairly well for a company that isn’t looking for long-term loyal customers. After receiving several cases from them, I’ve been comfortable ordering more.

There is a judge in charge of the bankruptcy, they don’t take kindly to cheating by anyone in the process.

I’ve opened two bottles from a case that arrived last week and we’re 2/2 on sound bottles, including a 2013 Scherrer Grenache that was in a great spot last night.

 the 2017’s are drinking so well.

Levo is great, but I am still pissed that I didn’t grab the two ONX wines that I saw!

Got my first two cases and one was delivered with the bottles corks down? I’m just glad I actually got the wine.

Let us know if you crack one of those Rockpile Zins. That’s one with a couple cases still out there.

I’m not going to open anything. Going to wait for all 30 cases to arrive and then do that big tasting that I previously mentioned, with friends.

I’d recommend the Seven Oxen Zin and Cassidy. I’ve done a tasting at the winery. French winemaker, so nothing jammy.

Boy I wish I had found this sooner, seeing some of you peeps grabbing Scherrer now I see Gamba too. Oh well, I did grab some cellar defender wines but none have arrived as of yet.

On second thought maybe its good I did not know about this thread. Who knows how much I would have spent

I’m kicking myself for somehow overlooking the Gamba.

The public sale started 1/24, I discovered the sale on 1/28 and bought the Gamba on 1/29. It was sold out by 1/30, just like the ONX and I am pouting about.

Did you have to buy a case of the Gamba? I think that’s why I didn’t buy. I’m reluctant to buy a case of a wine I haven’t tried or doesn’t have high ratings. I recently received 6 bottles of Trecini Rockpile zin from UC ($11) and was disappointed trying it on Friday. It was good, but not $80 quality (which is what the winery is selling it for on their website.) It’s a 2015; I’m going to hold the remaining bottles for a year. I think it is still somewhat closed and may improve.

Yes, a case of most of the wines that I bought, but as I said, I’m pushing most of it off on friends.

BTW, 2015 is pretty old for a Zinfandel. It may just be a little past its prime just like the 2016 Trione (which was the oldest wine that I bought). Maybe I’m wrong, however. I have had some 2014/2015 Zins that are still drinking wonderfully right now, but not young by any means.

Agreed that 2015 zins are old; I’m currently drinking 2016s. Having kept some zins too long, I’m familiar with the taste of an over the hill wine. i have been drinking a 2014 White Oak that is getting raisiny, which to me is a sign it’s too old. My wife, though, actually prefers the raisin taste. My opinion of the 2015 Trecini zin is that it is still a little closed. The Trecini website is selling the 2016 (which it says is the final vintage of Rockpile) for $80.

Last night we drank the 2013 Bella Grace Amador zin that I received a week ago ($3.15 + shipping, $30 retail). It was drinking at it’s peak I think and was fairly complex and aromatic for the price point. Tasted it with a 2015 Geyser Peak walking tree cab and most guests preferred the cab.

My experience with zin is that it can turn the corner pretty quickly so should be drank earlier rather than later. I do have a few older vintages in my cellar though that are late maturing and I’m aging further.
