Uline: Seller Of Wine Shipping Packaging

Anyone have experience with this seller? TIA

Yes. I twice bought their six-pack boxes and each time found frustrating inconsistencies with how well each pack was made. Some of them were secure but most of them were cut badly so the flaps only sort of aligned - and some of them were made so that the flaps tore open even after I taped them down. I had better luck with Domaine. (Only bought Uline twice because I didn’t know there were other options.)

I bought some of their 12-bottle double corrugated boxes for storage years ago before converting to weinboxes in my locker. They’re sturdy/good quality for storage.

I have over 100 of the six pack boxes and they have been a godsend for My wine locker organization. The difference between the weight of a six pack box and a 12 pack box is a game changer when you’re moving things around.

I’m sure this is a “no politics” zone, so I won’t say anything about Uline’s owners.

Very much agree about the chane in weight, particularly with the overhead press situation when getting to the top shelf in my offsite. I’m curious how recently you got yours - I’d bought my not-great sixers on a friend’s recommendation and was wondering if, like a lot of other stuff, that explanation was that their quality took a dive during pandemic.

I bought most of them in the last 12 months

Some people favor Uline (or disfavor Uline) because of the political leanings of the Uihlein family.

I use their 3.5” tubes in my offsite locker. Works great

They’re fine. It’s old money from the Schlitz Beer empire.

The idea sounds pretty ridiculous to me TBH.

Yep we don’t wanna go there do we?

I have heard you can get the plastic bags in which to store bottles from Uline; I myself have not purchased.

Try Cartons & Crates in Napa or E Beaver in NY.

I will say the ULine boxes are very big and will fit most fat bottom bottles.

On another tangent, I think the best boxes are the lay down foam wrapped with the foil or the EU vertical lay flat boxes.

Where do you buy lay down shipping boxes?

I bought a large number of Uline 12 bottle boxes two years ago when we moved. Everything fit in them easily and they were very sturdy. Not a bottle was hurt in the move and none of the boxes got so much as a small tear from being carted around. I kept several of them to store some wine in given that my number of bottles exceeds my current racking. I definitely recommend them.

Uline is a premier shipping supplies company. For my side business they do all of our custom branded boxes and shopping bags. I have only occasionally bought wine shippers from them, but you will often see the name branded on shippers if you have a look.

Buy with great confidence.

How much do 12 btl lay flats cost?

Given the “World’s Best Cardboard Wine Box” hyperbole, I was underwhelmed with the Domaine boxes. They work, and it’s very nice to have bulk storage consolidated to a uniform size. But I was expecting something with the cardboard strength of a heavy-duty shipper, but with the lightweight smaller dividers used for storage. Having just gone through this exercise though I am not sure such a thing exists.

p.s. Big fan of the new, extra-sticky 3M “Box Lock” tape.
