Two quickies

  • 2009 Jones Family The Sisters - USA, California, Napa Valley (8/28/2012)
Big dark berries, oak, baking spices on the nose. The palate is full of blackberries, cinnamon, blueberries, smoke and a little dust. The tannins are firm but necessary to support the hefty fruit. Very, very good.

  • 2000 Trimbach Pinot Gris Hommage a Jeanne - France, Alsace, Alsace AOC (8/21/2012)
This wine is ridiculously good. The nose reveals honeycomb and apricots. The palate is medium to full with lychee, some caramel notes, pear and baking spices. As it warms up it reveals some honey and apricot notes. Delicious, long finish with mouth watering acidic. Loved it.
