Check out A Year in Champagne and A Year in Burgundy on Netflix. Both are outstanding and very informative.
I completely agree with A Year In Burgundy, haven’t checked out A Year in Champagne yet.
Thanks, John. We will look forward to watching both. Nice change from our current watching of the entertaining Orange is the new Black. That one is keeping me on the straight and narrow behavior path.
As someone fairly involved with the Burgundy wine trade, a year in Burgundy seemed corny as heck to me, like a cheesy infomercial for Martine Saunier.
YMMV.
Watched & liked Both.
You had to enjoy seeing Perot Minot’s villain lair though.
I have visited regularly for years with Christophe, so i’ve seen his new cuverie and lab across the RN from Morey in person.
He makes very good wines, particularly since he dialed back the extraction a bit starting in '06.
They are insanely pricey, though.
Yeah, the tone of the movie will be appreciated by those who know zilcho about Burgundy. But if you have much experience, I think the cornball factor is undeniable.
Saw A Year in Burgundy some weeks ago. Liked it. Thought I put the Champagne one in my queue but didn’t see it last time I checked.
Adding to the wine docs, Red Obsession was quite interesting.
I know something about Burgundy (I’d never say that I know a lot!). And I enjoyed A Year In Burgundy. Just nice seeing the vineyards and vintners.
Looking forward to watching both; thanks for posting.
Thanks for the post. Just watched “A Year in Burgundy”, liked it.
Side notes, love the '08 Perrot Minot Fuees and '09 Perrot Minot Gevrey chambertin.
We also watched the Burgundy documentary tonight. It was good. I haven’t been to that area of France so it was great to see the vineyards and what the winemakers go through during the four seasons.
I’m sure it would be a different experience for those who work in the business. At least there was no Frass Canyon!
