Two Betas from last night

I won’t wax poetical about specifics. Both wines were excellent and made wonder why I stopped buying with ‘21 vintage.
‘21 Chard was a great expression of the grape with enough acidity to make it mouth watering. Not unlike a white Burg at Bistro 45 back in May. It definitely has a tactile component some people won’t enjoy but the overall structure was there and without ouvert oak.
‘16 Montecillo. Classic Cab? Gave a splash decant and back in bottle four hrs prior to serving. This is a refreshing elegant cab with very good acidity on the palate to make it a food wine. Also great nose of black currants, just as it should be with a nice minerality to follow.
Comparing it to Bedrock from the same year I’d say much more elegant and classic, probably also lower in alcohol given the mouthfeel.
