Spring release of the '23 vintage - anyone stocking up on the excellent vintage?
Also, interesting to see the Vinous scores - some surprises on there. (Dragon only 90-92, but Heminway up at 94-96, etc

Took a full case
101 Vineyard, Pesenti and Turley Estate.
Hard to grab everything they make.
I didn’t even see 101
Its typically a very small production, sometimes wishlist only. I try to snag a couple bottles each year but grabbed 6 Pesenti and 4 Turley Estate zins + the 2 Vineyard 101s.
Is it hard to grab, or hard not to grab?
The younger version of me with excess cellar space filled up case loads of this stuff. Now I cherry pick what we have historically liked the best. Much easier to grab this way.
I always buy Juvenile. It’s one of the world’s great wine values.
I had an '18 over the weekend. It just keeps getting better.
Tuesday night wine for sure! At $22 it may be the best everyday wine there is for me. Had a 2022 last night.
Same… Not here on my end.
I just stocked up on California Zin during Berserker Day, 6 packs from 4 producers, telling myself I would skip this Turley offer.
So of course I ordered a 6 pack of Turley. Hard to pick for sure, and I have no memory or notes, have not tasted any either, other than previous version of the Juvenile. I’ve always preferred the Old Vines blend to the Juvie, so passed on those. Of the single vineyard, picking mostly blind, I went with 3 Heminway, 3 Whitney Tennessee. First two on the offer sheet, so boom and done.
I might add some of new Old Vines, but on looking at CT, still have 16 bottles of 2021. Nah, I need to drink what I have.
Anybody have experience with skipping entirely on Turley offers? How long before they stop offering? Or do you stay on the list forever?
They wont drop you for skipping. You may not get an allocation for the Ueberroth in the summer but doubt they drop you for skipping.
In for a mixed case. Bedrock and Linne Calodo right around the corner. Too many good wines on the horizon.
Presenti
101
Hemingway
Casa Nuestra
Juvenile
Had a case in cart til $60 in shipping and taxes got me. Spent $2k + for BD16 so I’m holding off on this one and several other spring releases.
$76 for tax and ship for me.
The Linne Calodo upcoming release ships for free.
I have a few others that ship free for case quantities.
Those free ship offers are starting to really have some value
Ordered some Juvenile, Napa zin, Howell mtn zin, Pesenti and Dragon. Only one I have had before is the Pesenti. So taking a bit of a gamble. Was curious about the 101, but notes said is was on lighter side.
Openes this tonight while watching SNL 50 year special.

Are all CA appellations supposed to be amazing for ‘23? Or just Napa/Sonoma
