What is amazing is the taste memory. As soon as I took the first forkful the image of the kitchen of the house I grew up in was all around me. And I also had an immediate craving for a glass of milk (I never have milk with cake nowadays, always tea or coffee). It tasted good.
All in all, I got a lot more than my $3.99 worth.
The only problem is I still have 95% of the cake in the freezer.
Spaghetti, swedish meatballs, ketchup. Mix. Single mom dinner for us in the 70’s and 80’s and I still have to have it once in awhile. Delish. If my Italian father knew I ate that, he’d die on the spot…
Marmalade cheese sandwiches still a thing to this day.
