SKB case I had custom made which fits 8 bottles up to Krug size and 4 stems. You can also put bottles in the stem holes if you have added baggage limit. With 4 stems and 8 bottles, it is just at 50lb weight limit for economy and with 12 bottles, it comes in just under the 70lb limit for premium cabins/elites. Each cutout comes with a “plug” for the top for extra protection as pictured.
I put 4 hand blown glasses (Zalto, Grassl, Glasvin, etc) and 8 bottles in the case and then pushed it out the back of my open SUV whereupon it rolled over and hit the ground. Then I rolled it over a few more times. Not a single scratch on a bottle or stem. This is after spraying it down with a hose for a couple minutes. I’ll see if I can dig up the video. This is SUBSTANTIALLY more protective than those thin polycarbonate suitcases sold for normies – this is a true berserker case. It’s fully water tight – you can throw it in a lake if you want to.
Why am I selling it? Well, for one, I have another similar case. I also just spent upwards of $3000 getting a Rimowa Trunk XL converted for similar use, and it just seems absurd to have 3 different wine suitcases.
I will sell for $600 shipped to the 48. It cost nearly twice as much once customized and shipped to me.
