This is a wild boar farms Berkeley tie dye that we pulled tonight. Along with this we have been getting a bunch of wild boar Pink boar, yellow dwarf, green zebra, solar flare and pink Berkeley tie dye. Still waiting on some AAA sweet solano & beauty king.
We’ve gotten our first two tomatoes this week - both from a 4th of July vine and each about the size of a golf ball.
The good news is, just as Bob predicted, the vines are finally starting to grow vigorously.
The basil looks poor but I don’t mind just replanting that.
The crop on the grape vines is insane. I’d probably drop some fruit but I don’t know if it matters for table grapes. We generally leave some out for the birds hoping it entices them to stay away from the fig tree.
Peppers look like crap but they always look like crap.
Nancy; This has been our poorest crop year ever for our tomatoes. The plants never really grew with any vigor. Our weather has been so irregular that the poor plants did not know what to do! We have gotten a few nice tomatoes but it is a fraction of past years.
Made a marinara last night with a bowl of plum tomatoes and 2 heirlooms from the garden. Didn’t remove seeds/pulp, evoo, lots of garlic, basil, s&p and threw in some penne pasta and Parmesan. Sooooo sweet it seemed like a cup of sugar had been added. Yummy.
I am starting to get a good harvest here in WI now
Agree pan roasting with whatever else you choose to add makes a great sauce. Olive oil, onion, garlic, herbs and I have even added zucchini or eggplant. Slow roast and you have some easy good eats!
