Le Jardin de Charlotte Bourgogne 2007:
Saw that Becky Wasserman was the importer here and had to bring this home.
Seemed dark for a simple burg rouge, but the palate was great especially after about ten minutes. Great mix of red currants and earthiness that just got better as it mixed with air. Great price also, on the shelf for about $20.
Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir Walker Bay SA 2005:
This wine is in a great place right now (besides my cellar!). Big aromas of cassis and spice box with bright acidity and a great long finish. This is somewhere between a Cote du Nuits burg and a Willamette PN. Very alive and kicking!
