2006 Tercero Grenache Camp 4 Vineyards (Santa Ynez Valley, CA)
Pretty aromatics full of strawberry, raspberry, and faint oak. In the mouth, the same red fruits carry through with a hint of kirsch-like sweetness and a lithe mouth-feel. Overall, a delicious grenache! It paired well with a variety of food and the 15+% abv was virtually unnoticeable.
2006 Tercero Syrah Tierra Alta Vineyard (Santa Ynez Valey, CA)
Purple hue in color, white pepper, blackberry compote, lavender and a hint of rubber in the nose. In the mouth, forward dark fruits take charge with some background flint notes. I really liked the finesse of this syrah and it will get better and better with more bottle age.
