TNs: Jermann Red Angel '06 + Aldo Conterno Barolo Cicala '98

Jermann IGT Red Angel 2006:
A fresh and pleasant nose of spiced cherries, recently cut herbs and Spring flowers. Light-to-medium red in color and bursting with flavor. Notes of red cherries, licorice, damp earth, freshly cut grass and a background of crushed spices, espresso roast and chocolate. Overall the wine is smooth and silky and, moreover, lovely. I have long enjoyed the whites from this producer but this wine may certainly force me to seek out more of their red wines in the future. 90+ points

Aldo Conterno Barolo Cicala 1998:
Decanted for 2.5 hours prior to drinking. Ruby colored and floral/Asian spice-scented, this wine was hopping right out of the gate. Loaded up with dark plums, dried cherries, black tea, spices, soy, minerals and red flowers. Delicious, and really one of the better showings from a 1998 recently. 92 points
