Yes that was a lot of wine, don’t really remember the last few bottles. Copy pasting IG text for test purpose.
A few notes from a great night.
Very fun to taste Envinate’s Lousas Camino Novo with a little age (2015). Stemmy and spicy with an elegant sweetish fruit reminiscent of some Gamay or Mondeuse based wines. Very elegant and just kept getting better with more air. Top Mencia!
Roses de Jeanne’s 100% Pinot Blanc based Champagne from 2007 was just beautiful. Great nose with butter, toffee, bread, lemon and lees. Razor sharp acidity and lemon dominated taste. A very vinous Champagne for a lack of better term. Just great.
Njords, Acolon, 2020 was served blind. So transparent but still with some sweetish fruit depth. Slighty salty. Guessed Jura Poulsard. Very well made danish red wine!
Claude Buchot’s Vin Jaune from 1998 with a very deep complex taste and beautiful texture. Classic Vin Jaune notes, nuts and curry. Match made in heaven with comte cheese!
Marnes Blanches Empreinte from 2016 spends 3-4(?) years ‘sous voile’. It has less depth than most Vin Jaune’s, but it feels lighter, less boozy and is more lemon dominated. I like it a lot. I need to buy more and age them!
Alice et Olivier de Moor’s old vine Aligote (2019) is just an awesome reductive, lemon dominated wine with a floral hint in the background.
My last 2016 Aux Bois from Marnes Blanches was sadly a faulty bottle. Over developed and vinegar sour on the nose.
Besides the 2010 Muscadet, then the rest was also very good to decent.
