Ripe yellow fruits that had a hint of sweetness on the finish, no greenness here. Surprisingly concentrated and intense for a Sauvignon Blanc but just lacking a little x-factor. (89 pts.) -
2016 The Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Noir Outcrop Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills (9/4/2022)
Don’t drink new-world Pinots often but this was an unusual experience. The ripe cherry fruit was more dominant at first, with the wine becoming more restrained and earthy with air - opposite of most new-world Pinots that I have drunk before. High acidity, light structure meant for early-drinking. (89 pts.)
