TNR: Pierre Gimonnet Rose de Blancs

Any info on this Champagne will be appreciated.

I am not a fan, but in general I have an up and down and often vintage dependent relationship with Gimonnet. This is essentially a BdB from various villages (Chouilly, Cramant, Cuis, Oger) which has 10% of Bouzy red wine added to it. The base vintage is 2011 which doesn’t help things. I find the wine to be a bit too soft and bland. It almost seems like the both the Chardonnay and Pinot are lessened when blended and dumbed down as the end result does not seem lively, crisp, or expressive in any way; this blend in this base vintage just don’t work very well. I’m sure others will enjoy it, but it isn’t for me.

Thanks for the info, Brad.
