TNR: 2008 Switchback Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon

I know that this tends to be a love it or hate it producer. I’ve never had any of their wines and don’t care for the style that the regular bottling of Caymus falls into. Has anyone recently had the 2008 Cabernet? If so, was it an over-extracted, over-oaked fruit bomb? Thanks.

Michael, it is highly extracted. A good example of a Napa cab in a fruit forward style.

Overall, I would agree with Mike but I find Caymus to be vastly more spoof-laden than SBR. If you can find a bottle of the 2006 SBR, try it for a more “classic” example of Cab from this producer (compared to the 2005 or 2007).
