TN: Two European Whites.....(short/boring)

Shared these two w/ Susan last weekend:

  1. IngridGroiss Gemischter Satz Braitenpucchtorff/Niederosterreich (12.5%; www.Ingrid-Groiss.At; VineyardBrands/Birmingham/AL) IngridGroiss/Breitenweida 2023: Light gold color;rather fragrant floral/carnations mostly Gruner/white pepper light mineral/stony/metallic some complex attractive nose; lightly tart fairly rich/lush some white pepper/GV bit floral/R light stony quite pleasant bit simple/floral flavor; med.long floral lightly GV finish that tracks flavor; a rather pleasant Austrian GS but not nearly as compelling as the GV '24; a pleasant drinking GS but a bit on the dull side. $22.00 (KK)

  1. G&M Machmer GWT Spatlese Bechtheimer/Rheinhessen (12.0%; Pradikatswein/Spatlese; A.P.Nr. 4 257 141 049 22; Winesellers/Niles/IL) Machmer/Bechtheim 2021: Med.light gold color w/ lots of tiny bubbles that dissipate rapidly; rather low-key/quiet strong simple GWT/hair oil bit earthy/coarse pleasant enough not very fragrant nose; soft fairly sweet light GWT/hair oil/floral light earthy/porky/coarse rather simple bit dull flavor; soft light hair-oil/GWT/bit spicy finish that follows flavor; a rather sweet white that speaks of rather dul Rheinhessen GWT; pretty dull stuff that lacks vitality & intensity. $17.50 (KK)

More sizzlefrick from TheBloodyPulpit:

  1. The IngridGroiss Gruner '24 is a terrific expression of GV. This GS was not nearly at that level of intensity. Hopefully the '24 GS will be back up there in quality.
