Went down to the locker and found these. 2 sub $25 wines that I think have held up well.

2002 Yalumba Shiraz - Viognier Hand Picked - Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Eden Valley
Sweet and rich aromas. Smells very fresh. More opulent than the d’Arenberg. The hedonist side of me likes to smell this wine. Sweet blue and red fruit. Medium acids and tannins. This is holding up fine. Although it is very ripe it still has a rustic side. The finish is a little sour but that balances well with the oak. (91 pts.)

2002 d’Arenberg The Laughing Magpie Shiraz-Viognier - Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
Compared to the Yalumba this has a more earthy yet cleaner aroma. Less oak masking things. Bright fruit on the palate. This is actually starting to show a bit like a bordeaux. I don’t think I would guess it as Aussie shiraz. Showed even better on the second day. This wine delivered and considering the price, it over delivered. (92 pts.)
Cheers,
Jason
