TN: Thierry Pillot 2020 Meursault Narvaux

Had this last night along with a Cristal 2008 at Iki Ramen in Los Angeles.
Opened and poured a dash while we were drinking the Cristal. Initially it was somewhat shy on the nose but with a bit of air it opened up considerably. The nose showed some lemon curd, some gunflint aromas, and a bit of hazelnut. Took a sip with some hamachi with yuzu and it still wasn’t quite open. Next with some toro it started to show some tart lemon and sour apple fruit, and nice acidity. There was lots of minerality, and really good acidity and a long deep finish. With a soft shell crab bun it was perfect. The wine was very nicely balanced and just got better and better. Even so it needs some mid term aging. A really enjoyable young Meursault.
It would be nice to have more availability of the Paul Pillot wines and the wines that Thierry makes under his own label,
