TN: Siro Pacenti Rosso di Montalcino 2005

Color: Medium ruby, clean, consistent color to the rim

Nose: Intense cherry aromas, menthol and fresh mint, and a punch of alcohol

Palate: Rich black cherry fruit, ringing acidity, velvety yet very assertive tannins, a little heat from alcohol, finish is medium long~15 seconds.

Overall perception: Popped and poured to be perfectly fair. I think this would have benefited from a little more air time, but I didn’t have that luxury. I like the wine, but I think the style leans to the riper, richer style of Montalcino wine geared to appeal to American palates.
