TN: Ramonet Batard Montrachet 2006

certainly baby-killing, but with premox, probably a wise decision. Unevolved and young with a slight green tint of youthful white Burgundy, this was a fabulous bottle.

Intense detailed lime and lemon citrus and zest, with white flowers, some spiciness more than minerality, none of the hallmark Ramonet mint/rosemary, the wine had fabulous drive and energy with great length and a very clean taste.

A bit different from the Ramonet house Batard in the lack of minerality and lack of mint/rosemary, maybe that would come out w age. Regardless, a quite enjoyable bottle.

I love Ramonet. Really. Very sad about recent prices though.

Alan, how did it react to O2?

ha, ha. it opened up nicely–somehow it found more O2 than I did that night!
