Game 6 of the world series lasted so long that the 1990 Ruinart was dispatched long before the 9th inning, and so reinforcements were called for to mark the 27th title.
A different kettle of fish to be sure. Fresh apple slices and a hint of spices on the nose. Still pretty sharp and fizzy on the palate, very energetic with citrus fruits, serious minerality and a bracing, refreshing mouthfeel. As the wine lingers in the glass the finish expands, but I wonder will it round out to the extent a better year might. But if you’re looking for a palate cleanser it does the job with no reservations.
Cheers
