TN: NV Valdespino Sherry-Quina

NV Valdespino Sherry-Quina- This is a Sherry version of Chinato, and the last example in Jerez from what I have read.

Solera Sherry with Quinine, herbs and spices, this comes in a 1L and retails for under $20. Disclaimer, I sell this…But Sherry people know the quality of Valdespino so this is hardly shilling…

I don’t know what the grape is but I’ll guess this is PX, it’s sweet, somewhat raisin, brown sugar, molasses in it’s color /aroma/flavor. great acid with a hint of spice, imagine a really light PX with Sarsaparilla or a light root beer note. This is delicious and Cheap for what it is. The palate lingers for a while, this would be a great match for a difficult dessert or for a range of cheeses as it’s fairly light on it’s feet. If you see this buy it as theres not that much and it’s F’n delicious.

Interesting, I’d never even heard of this. I’ll keep an eye out, might be worth violating my wine buying moratorium since it’s not really wine. Or I can tell myself that anyway

How long does this last after opening?

Day 6 and it’s holding like a champ, this seems like it has enough stuffing to stay on the counter for a while, I’m running the ‘how long test’ now.

Doesn’t show up on wine searcher, you say you sell it, can you IM me a url?

Thanks!

me too, I’d like contact inf.

Quina? Like Quinine? Chincona bark?
