N.V. Louis Roederer Champagne Brut Premier - France, Champagne (6/2/2009)
Not sure if the blend/style has changed with the new label, but it seems drier. Loaded with citrus and orchard fruits - winding up on a creamy vanilla note.
I tried this for the first time tonight and was very impressed. Hi Time Wine had it priced at $29.99 so I picked up two bottles. Very enjoyable, very high quality for the price.
Agreed, tasty, tasty stuff. Sorry can’t help with the style of the wine Peter, maybe brad will chime in.

Peter,
The first release of the newer labels (which was based on 2004 and appeared in both older and newer labels) is the same wine as always, but this cuvee was definitely tighter and more citrus focused than the years that preceded it. This makes it seem drier, but it still sees the same dosage of right around 12 g/L. Give it a few years and it will loosen up nicely. For $30, this wine is hard to beat though I prefer it with a few years of age - especially this cuvee.
It was nice and fresh on the golf course this morning, even after spending 10 hours in a thermos.
Peter, I agree that this comes across as very dry. When I had it back in december after the current batch came in it came across as bone dry. Since I like that style it wasn’t neccessarily a problem. I think right now this disgorgement just screams for food
