TN: NV Camille Saves Rose Champagne

I have been wanting to try this.
Here is my first stab at it.

NV Camille Saves Rose Champagne

A gorgeous light pink color.
The nose is a gorgeous balance of citrus, light biscuit and a really bright red fruit.
The palate is PERFECTLY balanced. Fruit. Acidity. A fine petillance.
Wonderful length.
This is extremely special. I bought some more after this.
With Popeyes Spicy Chicken at a tailgate last night, this is neigh on perfect!!!

Easily my favorite rose from Champagne. And just a plain terrific wine.

Fried Chicken and Rosé bubbly is a PERFECT combo!

Fried chicken + Rose Bubbly + sweet potato pie is the perfect combo!

Just had this myself on Tuesday with sushi. Great stuff.

What a great bottle of rose champagne. Nice note.

I appreciate the Popeye’s confession.

I frequently insult fine bottles of wine the same way - and I enjoy it every time.

Scott,my anger knows no bounds about the fact that the Popeye’s three blocks from here is now a Starbucks!

[rofl.gif] Like the 4 other Starbucks within a 2 mile radius were not enough! [soap.gif]

Excellent Champagne, especially the Rose.

certainly this is nice enough—although I would favour sushi over any sort of chicken with it.

I haven’t yet thougt that Billecart must look to its laurels, though…

Otto, for a while there were THREE Starbucks within 150 feet of each other at the corners of Montana and 7th, Montana and Lincoln and inside the Pavillions at Montana and Lincoln. You could see the other two from any one. The one in the middle used to be a far superior Dietrich’s but Starbucks bought the chain to kill it.

Bingo. Rose Champagne + sushi= heaven.

I love Camille Saves’ Rose, it’s a gorgeous wine.

Yep. This seems to be a popular combo recently. I keep hearing of people having Camille-Saves and sushi ever since I did 3 weeks ago in Napa. A great start to the holiday season.

I had a NV Moutard Rose Brut at Mishima in NYC the other night and it was spectacular with the sushi.

James,

Maybe it is just this disgorge but this is much better than the Billecart we get now in Georgia.
The only Billecart Rose that compares is the drier version we get when I go to France.
This wine is a notch below the Cuvee Elizabeth from Billecart but not much.

well, thanks—I haven’t had the current batch of Billecart, and if they are indeed making Brut Americain, I will be happy to drink more Saves—and I appreciate you reminding me to keep current. Perhaps one is susceptible to brand loyalty to champagne somewhat as if it were scotch.

Aha! Next time at Mishima, it’ll be rose!

COOL!

You know, they were still talking about our Champagne dinner there (in a good way). They loved that we seemed to enjoy ourselves so much.
