Like the wine…love your attitude and passion. Will never forget election night 2008…we simply filled up a bathtub in a typical Chicago shotgun three-plex with ice and champagne. Don’t recall much of the evening.
Yesterday late morning, here in Philly, a huge roar erupted from our block, followed by the loud clanging of cow bells and pots and pans. I ran out front and saw the neighbors passing around a tiny bottle of prosecco you can buy at the Dollar Store by the 4 pack. I immediately enlisted Jonathan to fill a trash can with ice, ran to the bodega to buy plastic cups, and proceeded to pour an entire case of champagne for the neighborhood over the course of the afternoon. Most of it was inexpensive, but still solid, stuff we rarely touch, but also a bottle of Egly rose, a Hebrart rose, and a Boulard Murgiers. At some point we also brought out 2 roast chickens to share with our friends across the street, plus a magnum of 2014 Foillard Cote du Py and a mag of 1996 Saint Mambert. It was quite a day.
