Morgan 2007 Cotes Du Crows, Monterey County
This blend of 55% Syrah and 45% Grenache, has a slightly subdued, yet pure nose of red and black fruits with some hints of pepper. The palate is medium bodied and has nice black cherry, ripe blackberry, with bright strawberry picking up on the finish. It’s got a nice round mouthfeel with just a hint of vanilla and baking spices. Well made. There was a bit of heat on the finish when we first opened it but that has subsided after an hour or so.
Just a really tasty bottle of wine, made in a new world CdR kind of way. For $18, I’d buy it again.
