TN: Mastroberardino Radici Fiano '15...(short/boring)

Tried this Sat night at Susan was winging it to Basel (at least…sitting in Heathrow):

  1. Mastroberardino Radici Dd’OCeG: Fiano di Avellino (13.5%; Winebow; www.Mastroberardino.com/en) Atripalda 2015: Light gold color; very strong fragrant floral/Fiano/lemoni/citrusy somewhat stony/chalky/mineral/perfumed talk quite lovely nose; quite tart/tangy/juicy strong floral/Fiano/carnations/citrusy/lemony some stony/mineral/perfumed talc/bit metallic rather saline/savory very attractive flavor; very long quite tart/tangy/mineral/chalky/flinty quite savory/saline light floral/carnations/Fiano finish; a very attractive/interesting thirst-quenching savory/saline white that should go out 10 yrs; then kind of wine that demands another sip until the btl is drained; one of the better non-Calif Fianos I’ve had. $28.00 (AV)

A wee BloodyPulpit:

  1. Never done did had this wine before. Comes from the Santo Stefano del Sol vnyd. Classic SS ferment.

Ha! Damned with faint praise!

Uhhhh, Marcus…surely you recognize a TomHill troll by now???
There’s not much Fiano grown in Calif. The Unti is pretty decent…but just that. In terms of sheer enjoyment,
I would rank the Ryme right up there at the top. But it’s a whole lot different rendition of Fiano than
is this Radici.
