2013 Liquid Farm Chardonnay White Hill - USA, California, Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills (7/4/2023)
From magnum, this is absolutely terrific from the large format. The hue is a beautiful green tinged gold. Mature flavors of lemon curd, butterscotch and crushed flowers. Layered, complex and long. Superb!
2008 Domaine Château De La Tour Clos Vougeot Vieilles Vignes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (7/4/2023)
Dark and brooding. Very shy aromas, seemingly closed. The palate is more expressive. Mostly primary dark berries and sous bois. Earthy and densely packed. Over the course of two hours this barely budges, remaining dark, dense and primary. Years away from maturity.

Very interesting on both counts - never had a ‘vintage’ Liquid Farm, would love to experience that
On the 2008 Burg, yeah, I still wonder about the few 2008s I have as well, feels like one of those vintages (like 2005) where you never know when it’s going to be in a prime phase to drink…you get a beautiful wine but you also realize clearly there’s more to come

Are there many producers with Domaine and Chateau in the title of their wines? Not counting domaines making CdP, that is.
Chris, I’m no expert but I suspect this is a CT naming issue. The label does not appear to list Domaine. In any case, the history of CDLT is interesting and goes back centuries. Bill Nanson does an excellent job of explaining.
