TN: Jean-Marc Boillot 2004 Batard Montrachet

Had a bottle of this with dinner last night at Lola in Dallas. Quite a nice bottle of White Burgundy. Pale straw color. Somewhat close nose, although a very pleasant one, with aromas of ripe granny smith apples and minerals. While the nose didn’t shine, in the mouth it came alive. It was just bubbling over with ripe, but crisp, fruit flavors – pears, apples, apricots, all suffused with a wonderful mineral backbone. Just killer with our meal of seafood. Drinking well now with no reason to hurry. I’d say 93 - 94 now with room for some improvement ahead. Just a very enjoyable wine from start to finish.
