2009 Potel-Aviron Morgon Côte du Py Vieilles Vignes - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Morgon (7/7/2013)
Dang, this is good! A beautiful red-cherry nose that could pass for young pinot leads into a palate that just EXPLODES! with gorgeous, sweet and lush yet taut, fruit. Finishes with a bright dose of acidity. (92 pts.)

I will preface by saying I have never been a fan of Beaujolais, but I will occasionally try them if available. This wine was a gift from some friends, and as usual I just don’t find these wines enjoyable or interesting. Different strokes.

Moderate nose of earth, slight red fruit and herbs. light body, too light for me, with some red fruits, earth and a tart vegetable component. Not a lot going on.

I’ve liked the P-A wines that I have tried. The 2007 Fleurie was really good late last year.

This is a region I just can’t get in to.
