TN: Giulia Negri Langhe Nebbiolo '22....(short/boring)

Tried this wine last night:

  1. Giulia Negri DOC: Langhe Nebbiolo/Pian delle Mole (13.5%; www.GiuliaNegri.com; KermitLynch) Giulia Negri/LaMorra 2022: Med.light color; very attractive floral/Nebb/violets/lilacs rose petals very slight pungent/tarry classic Piemonte Nebb somewhat elegant/delicate lovely nose; fairly tart/tangy/acidic strong floral/Nebb/violets/rose petal slight pungent flavor w/ light modest tannins; long finish that follows flavor; a quite pretty expression of Langhe Nebb; rather elegant w/ lots of attractive floral character; fairly drinkable & can use a few more yrs; quite a nice Langhe Nebb. $35.00 (KL)

More jickleswallow from TheBloodyPulpit:

  1. Not a producer I’ve had before but apparently an up&coming star. Took over the LaMorra estate of her family at age 24. Her background in Burgundy really shows thru in this wine. A fairly new addition to the Kermit Lynch portfolio.

Had this same wine a while back and loved it for exactly how you described it. Pretty, floral and concentrated is a style of Nebbiolo that I much prefer over the “heavy handed” oaky examples.

Also agree that Giulia is truly a star in the making, she already has a great reputation in the region.

I’ve had it recently as well and posted a note on a Norwegian site that is pretty much as you describe it. In a similar style I very much like Principianos wines.

I picked up the ‘21 vintage from K&L last year and was similarly impressed with her wine making!
