TN: Germany!

In 2019 we had a big Dolcetto tasting where we had three vintages of Roagna’s Dolcettos: 2015, 2009 and 1986.

The 2015 was still very young, the 2009 was doing just fine and 1986 was dead. So based on this observation, I’d say 10 years easily, but +30 years is too much. :sweat_smile:

I understand. At least this bottle that we tasted was probably the least expressive of the Falkensteins I’ve tasted. Of course that is not all that is to wine, but the style was quite different from what I’ve used to.

Now, don’t get me wrong, we would never bottle a wine that we didn’t like, but the grapes from Schilly didn’t always make it into the cellar every year. You’re right. The style of this wine is barely off-dry, or halbtrocken.
